Average precision

Average precision is a single score that summarises how well a model ranks correct results ahead of wrong ones across all thresholds, used to compare detection and classification models.

Accuracy alone hides a lot. When a security classifier faces rare events like fraud or intrusions, average precision is a fairer measure of whether it catches the real cases without drowning analysts in false positives.
